EW 454 – Time To Dance跳舞时光

Wen-Jie, did you see the dancing TV show last night?

            昨晚电视的跳舞节目？No, I didn’t. 我没看  Which one was that?

“Dancing with the Stars”.  It’s fun to watch.

            原来是《星随舞动》那个节目，是马可爱看的节目之一

The couple I considered best, won the competition.

他认为表现最好的那一对，赢了比赛  That’s great.  Mark, I didn’t know you enjoy watching dancing.

I do, because I think I can dance!  I especially love the Latin Dancing.

            他说他认为自己能跳舞，他特别爱看南美拉丁舞表演 Does that mean ---?

Oh, no.  I don’t know how to do Latin Dancing.

            他说，他不会跳拉丁舞

My wife Judy and I enjoy ballroom dancing.

            但是他和妻子Judy倒很喜欢跳交际舞  Really?

Yeah. Do you dance too, Wen-Jie?

            Huh, I can dance some, but not very well.  我可以跳但跳得不好

Oh, with a little work it can be a lot of fun.  Just move your feet with the rhythm.

他说只要用点心学，跳舞就会很有趣, 只要move your feet with the rhythm跟着韵律动你的脚就是了

And if you dance with a partner,

            那如果你有个舞伴的话，

Try your best not to step on his or her feet.

Ha, 那尽量不要踩着对方的脚就对了This is easier said than done. 这说来容易，作来难。

Wen-Jie, have you seen the movie “The King and I“?

            Of course.  我看过这部电影，「国王与我」

There’s a very famous dancing scene in that movie.

            Yes. 片子里有一场著名的跳舞场面

You must remember the song:  Shall We Dance?

            是阿，我记得Shall We Dance那首歌,特别是副歌的部分

Would you try it for us?  (OK.)

            Shall we dance? (One, two, three and?)

On a bright cloud of music shall we fly? (One, two, three and?)
Shall we dance? (One, two, three and?)
Shall we then say "Goodnight and mean "Goodbye"? (One, two, three and?)
Or perchance,
When the last little star has left the sky,
Shall we still be together
With our arms around each other
And shall you be my new romance?
On the clear understanding
That this kind of thing can happen,

And the King and Anna dance and dance and dance…

Do you know what kind of dance that was?

            他们跳什么舞？Were they dancing Waltz?

You are right.  They dance Waltz.

Mark, not everyone likes to dance. 但不是每个人都喜欢跳舞的

I know.  I know people who are scared of dancing.

是阿，我们都有朋友是很怕跟人跳舞的

In the west, it’s a tradition for the bride and groom to dance the first dance at the wedding reception.

在西方有个传统，婚宴上新人要起头跳第一支舞，That can scare some people off.

Well, it shouldn’t.  It’s just a celebration dance.

            其实那不过就是一个欢庆式的跳舞，不用怕的

Of course, some people have more dancing ability than others, like our producer Josh.

            当然，有些人比较有跳舞才华 , 像我们的制作人Josh.

J:   Yeah, I love this song.  Should we hit the dance floor?

A:  Huh, I’m not sure.  I don’t think I’m a good dancer.

J:   Me neither.  Who cares?

A:  Okay.  I’ll follow you to the dance floor.
J:   Check out these amazing dance moves.  Let’s have fun.

Dancing can be as simple as moving to beat of the music.

It can express happiness and joy.

            以表达快乐、喜乐的感受

Or dance can involve a great deal of skill with a difficult dance routine.

而跳舞也可以包含技巧难度高的舞步，dance routine指的就是固定的舞步组合

Which create powerful emotions.

            以创造出强而有力的情感

David knew the feeling of sorrow and pain.

He experienced much suffering in his life.

Yet, he knew who to turn for help.

            然而，他知道要向谁求助

God was his Rock and Salvation.

            神是他的盘石和拯救

And For all of us who put our faith in Jesus,

God is present in our lives,

            神就在我们的生命里

He gives us songs of joy in our salvation,

And sets our feet to dancing.
