                你問，古時候的人是怎樣知道時間的。I suppose they didn’t have watches or clocks.

No. They didn’t have watches or clocks.

                他們那時沒鐘也沒錶。Then, how about watching the sun.那看天上的日頭了。

Yes. There’s sunrise and sunset, day and night.

                每天都有有日出日落，白天和黑夜。

You worked when there’s light. You rested when it’s dark.

 We say: We have very little time left., or We have no time.

Very little time left時間所剩不多。No time 是沒時間了。

That is like saying: “We are out of time.”

                在今天的時代裡，時間寶貴，每樣事情都要作得快。   

For example, we have instant coffee,

比如，現今流行即溶咖啡, also instant noodles 速食麵

Umm… and TV dinners, fast food restaurants…

                電視餐，快餐店

And we gobble down the food just to save time.      

而大家又都狼吞虎嚥的吃，好節省時間。No wonder our stomachs always complaining. 難怪我們常常消化不良。

 

Well, talking about saving time, we have overnight mail to ensure fast delivery.

                我們也有便捷省時的快遞郵件，當天寄第二天馬上收到。

We also have 1-hour photo service and same-day dry cleaning service.

還有，一小時照片沖洗服務，以及當天即刻可拿的衣服乾洗服務。I like that. Those are convenient.

So, tell me Xxx, do you feel the same way about time?

Not really. 我阿，喜歡慢慢來。I like to take time to cook. 喜歡花時間煮菜。

And I like to talk to people. 也喜歡花時間和人談話。

Do you get your job done?

Of course. 工作當然也按時完成。But maybe not as fast as you though.不過比不上你快。

In God’s perfect plan, everything has its time.

                在神完全的計畫裡，每樣事情都有它發生的時期。

We humans are limited by time and space.

                我們人類受到時空的限制，

It’s hard for us to understand the whole picture of his plan.

                所以很難去瞭解神整個的計畫。

We don’t understand the things happening to us and around us.

                我們不明白發生在我們身上及我們周遭的一切事情。

But if we trust in God and his perfect will,

                但是當我們信任神和祂完全的旨意，

Believe in the redeeming grace of His son Jesus Christ.

                相信祂兒子耶穌基督的救贖之恩，

Then, we will have peace and hope in our heart.

                那我們就會有平安和盼望在心裡。

We have strength to go forth.
