The eyes are the window to the soul.

From looking at one’s eyes, you can get a glimpse of one’s soul.

You can tell how a person is feeling from looking at his or her eyes.

Mark, I guess eyes can talk.

Talking about seeing things, eyes are important.

           Yes. Very important.

Can you imagine what it’s like to not be able to see?

           No, I can’t.

Remember the character Saul in the New Testament?

           Yes.

At first, he hated Christians.

He arrested Christians and put them in jail.

Then, one day while travelling on the road, a light from heaven flashed around him.

He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him,

“Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

It was the voice of God.

Afterward, Saul got up from the ground.

But when he opened his eyes, he could see nothing.

For three days he was blind, and he did not eat or drink anything.

Then, the Lord told a man to go see Saul.

The man put his hands on Saul, and said:

“Jesus has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Immediately, the Bible says something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes,

And he could see again.

He got up and was baptized, and after taking some food, he regained his strength.

This Saul later on was known as the apostle Paul.

Before encountering Jesus, Saul’s spiritual eyes were closed.

God revealed Himself to Saul.

Saul realized that he had been as blind spiritually as he was physically.

God was merciful to Saul and opened his eyes for him.

Mark, this story reminds me of a song。

Which one?

”Open My Eyes Lord”. It goes like this.

           (singing)

Open my eyes, Lord.

I want to see Jesus.

To reach out and touch Him.

And say that I love him.

Open my ears, Lord.

And help me to listen.

Open my eyes, Lord.

I want to see Jesus.

Verse of the Week

As it is written:

“No eye has seen, No ear has heard,

No mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”

But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

God has revealed to us the mystery through his spirit.

He has prepared salvation for all.

Whoever believes in Jesus, their spiritual eyes are opened.

Sins are forgiven, and they become children of God.

This is wonderful news indeed.

Just from looking at your eyes?

           Mmm…

No idea.

Can you tell how I am feeling?

Un, Un…

           Oh, you are as impossible.

Oh, now I know.

           Know what?

I know you are frustrated, and discouraged, and etc. etc.
