Today we are going to talk about giving gifts.

Westerners love to receive and give out gifts.

                西方人很喜愛接收禮物和贈送禮物。

It’s an expression of showing love, friendship and thanks.

                這是表達愛意，友誼和感激之情的方式。

                Only when I need to. 我只有在必要的時候才會去購物買東西。

I usually leave the shopping and buying to my wife.

Talking about giving gifts, it can come in all kinds of shapes and forms.

                說到送禮，禮物可以是各樣的形狀或是形式。

You can go to a gift shop to select.

                你可以到禮品店去選購。

You can gift wrap the gifts with beautiful papers and ribbons.

                你可以用漂亮的包裝紙和採帶來包裝禮物。

You can buy gift certificates or gift vouchers.

                你也可以買禮品券來代替。

你問中國的習俗，We often give out red envelopes as gift. 我們通常喜歡給人紅包。

                Of course it’s cash. 裡面當然是現鈔了。

The receiver can choose freely whatever he wants.

你說的對。 送人茶葉也很普遍。I have received tins or boxes of tea as gifts. 就有不少人送給我一罐罐的茶葉呢。

A: Good choice. I’ll use real jasmine tea leaves to make your cup of tea.

B: That’s great. I love the flavor and the fragrance of it.

 Don’t forget to add some sugar.

A: Nobody drinks Chinese tea with sugar in it.

B: Well, I do. I can’t drink tea without sugar in it.

                That’s very convenient. 美國人喜歡用茶包，不用茶葉泡茶。

We also use instant tea and coffee.

Well, for some people they prefer brewed tea and coffee.

When we receive gifts from people, we often give thanks to the giver.

                當我們領受了別人的禮物時，我們總是向贈禮的人感謝。

But too often we forget to thank God.

                但是許多時候我們卻忘了向神感謝。

He is the one who gives us life and breath.

                祂乃是賜下生命氣息的主。

He is the one provides for our needs.

                祂也是供應我們一切需要的神。

He blesses us with all kinds of good gifts.

                祂把各樣的好禮物賜下。

He does not change like shifting shadows.

在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。
