How are you today, Cheung Yun?

                I am fine, but I had a big adventure earlier today.

                今天早上我有一个大冒险。

What happened?

I was trying to take a new route to come to the studio. 我试著要走一条新路

                　前来錄音室。

And you got lost.

                That’s right. I got lost 我迷了路。

You had no idea where you were.

                I had no idea where I was. 我不知道自己身在何处

Well, you must have found the right direction.

Yes, 后来我才找到正确的方向. It took me double the usual traveling time. 我花了比平常双倍的时间。

Well, I am sure glad that you are here safe and sound.

That must be how people feel when they go to a foreign land.

Do you remember when you first arrived in America?

Of course. 我还记得最初到美国的景況呢。

You didn’t know anyone, and they all spoke a different language.

You had to study hard and you were very homesick.

You ate instant noodles just about everyday.

Grammar Snapshot 文法知多少   Lost is the past and past perfect tense of lose l-o-s-e. Dialogue

 

A: How was the basketball game last night?

B: I still can’t believe we lost.

A: You lost? How could it be?

B: It was a very close game.

A: Tell me about it.

B: We were winning going into the last quarter,

 but two of our best players fouled out.

 A: I guess it was downhill from then on.

 B: Yes, it was. The game kept slipping away.

 A: Well, don’t get lost in the defeat. There will be another game.

 

Let’s help the listeners understand what’s going on.

B: Yes, it was. The game kept slipping away.

A: Well, don’t get lost in the defeat. There will be another game.

                                我說，不要因为输了就心灰意冷。反正还有下一场球赛嘛。

Cheung Yun talking about lost, Jesus often talked about lost things.

                耶稣多次谈到失落的事物。

In Luke chapter 15 , he talked about the lost sheep.

                在路加福音15章，他說到迷失的羊。

The shepherd had 100 sheep, but one was lost in the wilderness.

                一个牧羊人有一百只羊，但其中一只卻在旷野裡走迷了。

So the shepherd went looking for the lost sheep until he found it.

                这个牧羊人前去找那只迷失的羊，直到找著了。

Jesus also talked about a woman who had 10 valuable coins but one was missing.

                耶稣也說到一个妇人有十块钱币，卻失落了一块。

She searched the whole house for the lost coin until she found it.

                她仔细的在屋裡寻找，直到她找到那块钱币。

Jesus even told a story about a father who lost his son.

                耶稣甚至說到一个故事，有一位父亲失去了他的孩子。

Though this son had turned his back on the family,

                虽然这个孩子违背父命离开家庭，成了一个浪子。

The father watched the road each day waiting for this lost son to return.

                但作父亲的每天观望来路，等待那失丧的儿子归回。

In each story, Jesus said there was rejoicing and celebration over the fact that the lost was found.

在以上每个故事裡，耶稣都提到当失落的，迷失的，或失丧的被寻回时，都有欢喜快乐的庆祝呢。

Mark, this verse reminds me of the song “Amazing Grace”.

                这个经文让我想起了”奇異恩典”那首诗歌。

I thought of that song too. The writer was John Newton.

                诗歌作者是約翰牛顿。

He was living in sin and was a slave trader, buying and selling human beings.

                他本来生活在罪恶中，以买卖奴隸为生。

But he became a Christian and his life was totally changed.

                但是他成为基督信徒，从此之后生命改变。

Then, he wrote the song “Amazing grace”.

                后来也写出”奇異恩典” 这首歌。

John Newton had been lost.

But God had found him.

                但是神寻回了他。

That’s what God does. He finds lost people.

                这正是神所做的，祂主动去寻找迷失的人。

For the son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.

                因为人子来，为要寻找拯救失丧的人。

And each time when sinners repent, there is rejoicing in heaven.

                每一回当罪人悔改时，在天上都会有欢喜和快乐。
