You are right. They are blue. Now let me see what color are your eyes.
Well...
They are… black. Or should I say dark brown?
My hair is black, 我的头发是黑色,but my eyes are dark brown.
All Orientals have dark brown eyes and black hair.
But we don’t all look alike.
I know that. You have the Cheung Yun’s eyes.

Below, we are going to hear a conversation between an eye doctor and the patient.
Here is the -- “Everyday Dialogue”.
Dialogue
P: Hello, doctor. I’d like you to check my eyes.
D: What’s the problem?
P: Recently, my vision seems a little blurry.
D: How so?
P: Sometimes I can’t see clearly where I am going. I keep bumping into things.
D: You need lenses to correct your eyesight.
P: Do I have to wear them every day?
D: You’d better. Some people don’t bother. They’re the ones always
bumping into things.
--------------------------------
Cheung Yun since when did you start wearing glasses?
Since when? 我什麼时候开始戴眼镜呢?I think since I was in high school.
You must have been doing too much studying and reading.
I guess so. How about you Mark, do you have perfect vision?
Perfect Vision? Oh, no.
Where are your glasses?
Right in my eyes. I wear contacts.
I see. How convenient!
Now, let’s help the listeners to understand the ‘Everyday Dialogue’.

Cheung Yun talking about eyesight, I remember the story of Jesus giving sight to a man who had been born blind.
This man had never seen.
Even today no doctor can give sight to a person who has never seen.
Jesus spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him,
Then Jesus asked the man: Do you see anything?
The blind man looked up and said,
“I see people; they look like trees walking around.”
Mark, It sounds like this man still needs his vision corrected.
Yes. Once again Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes.
The Bible says: Then his eyes were opened
And he saw everything clearly.
Mark, Isn’t this remarkable?
Yes, indeed.
Jesus shows mercy to the blind man.
And He gave him the ability to see in 2 stages.
At the first stage of healing, Jesus brought hope to the man.
At the second stage, Jesus brought completion of his miracle.
Jesus gave the blind man 20/20 perfect eyesight.
Verse of the Week
Jesus said, 耶稣說,
“The eye is the lamp of the body.
If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.
If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness.”
-------------------------------------------
Mark, here Jesus is talking about our spiritual eyesight, 耶稣在这儿,指的是我们属灵的视力,isn’t it?
You are right. The eye means the desire, the ambition, the things that we are attracted to.
All these indicate what kind of person we are.
If we are drawn to the spiritual things of God,
Allowing God to work in us ,
Our lives will be meaningful and full of hope.
What’s the opposite then?
If our minds are occupied by evil thoughts,
We are following the desires of our flesh,
And we push God away and ignore the spiritual matters,
then we are fallen into darkness.
Mark, that’s why Jesus came to this world-这是为什麼耶稣来世上的原因─
Right. To have mercy on us sinners.
We were like the blind man living in the spiritual darkness.
But Jesus died on the cross, called us out of the darkness,
brought us into His light.
He opened our spiritual eyes.
And gave us vision to see how to live in this world.
There’s hope and joy in following Him.

Mark, I am thinking, what if I had your blue eyes and brown hair?
Yes…?
And you had my brown eyes and black hair.
Then you would be Dutch and I would be Chinese.
Just Imagine that…..
Are you kidding? It would be weird. Let me keep my blue eyes.
But having brown eyes has many benefits. They absorb light better, and…
Oh, stop it.
